Juntos Community Stands Unwaveringly with our Undocumented Community

Tuesday’s election outcome is horrific for so many reasons, especially for immigrants, mixed-status families, and DACA recipients. This is not the kind of leader I want as an example for my son. We are now at a crossroads where the administration seeks to start mass deportations on Day 1, and the possibility of the Supreme Court ruling DACA unconstitutional is closer than ever.

As the CEO of Juntos Community, currently on paternity leave, I’ve tried to set strong boundaries with work to focus on bonding with my newborn. However, I am stepping back in at this moment to write this statement and make it clear that Juntos Community stands unwaveringly with our undocumented community in Colorado and beyond. We will not let fear reduce us. We will be the light our community needs in these times of darkness.

At Juntos Community, we anticipated a range of outcomes, including this one, and we have invested significant resources to support DACA recipients in renewing their work permits. Our vision to help undocumented families access upward mobility and build generational wealth drives us to take immediate action. Through our DACAWorks program, we offer renewal assistance for all Coloradans—whether through one-on-one support or in-person clinics. Just last month, we expanded nationwide with virtual DACA clinics, providing DACA recipients everywhere with access to renewal assistance and financial aid for USCIS fees.

Starting today, our low-bono services are FREE until December 10th, 2024—our service fee no longer applies. This is essential to ensure that DACA recipients can renew their work permits quickly and without financial barriers.

In the coming four years, we will fiercely defend our community’s dignity and right to exist. To our allies who wish to support us in this mission, please consider donating through our Colorado Gives campaign - early giving is open NOW and all contributions through December 10th will be matched via the incentive fund. Contributing directly through our website is also welcomed. Every contribution will strengthen our direct services and advocacy to stand against these harmful policies.

Let us mourn, heal, and work together to fight back. Juntos Community will remain a beacon of hope and resilience. Together, we’ll build a future of opportunity and security for all families.
